DC:05 Clinical Training

This DC:0-5™ Clinical Training will be provided by Shannon Bekman PhD, IECMH-E, who is a ZERO TO THREE certified trainer. The training will cost $150.00. To secure your spot in the training you will need to pay the entry fee after registering.

This professional development opportunity is designed for advanced practitioners in Colorado such as mental health clinicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, nurse practitioners and early interventionists whose work with infants, young children and their families involves expert assessment, diagnosis and case formulation.

The training will be offered virtually via Zoom and the full schedule is:
Wednesday, June 5th from 9:00a.m. - 2:00p.m. MST

Thursday, June 6th from 9:00a.m. - 2:00p.m. MST

Friday, June 7th from 9:00a.m. - 2:00p.m. MST

The registration deadline is May 21st at 5:00p.m.

WellPower is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. WellPower maintains responsibility for this program and its content. There is no known commercial support for this program.

Diversity-Informed Tenets

The Diversity-Informed Tenets for Work with Infants, Children, and Families are a set of guiding principles that raise awareness about inequities and injustices embedded in our society. The Tenets empower individual practitioners, agencies and systems of care to identify and address the social justice issues intricately intertwined with all infant mental health work. The Tenets are rooted in belief that self-awareness and intentional action are the cornerstones of principles of equity and inclusion. The Tenets are a product of the Irving Harris Foundation Professional Development Network, and more information can be found Here.

Facilitating Attuned Interactions (FAN) Training

Thank you for your interest in the Facilitating Attuned Interactions (FAN) Training hosted by Right Start for Colorado.

The FAN is a conceptual model and practical tool for attunement in relationships and reflective practice. The FAN promotes family engagement and practitioner/parent collaboration in a range of service settings (e.g., home visiting, primary care, early intervention, ECMH consultation, child welfare).

This team-based training (supervisors and practitioners together) uses a cohort model over the course of 6 months, and includes the following 3 components:

Core training: 2 virtual days for supervisors and practitioners scheduled Monday November, 13 2023, and Thursday, November 16, 2023, 9:00-3:30 MST.
A supervisor-only training Monday February 12th, 2024 10:00-12:00 MST.
Reflective practice: Practitioners use the FAN in their work with families for 6 months with the support of their supervisor. Supervisors attend monthly mentoring calls about their use of the FAN in supervision (date and time of calls TBD).
Follow up: The cohort reconvenes after 6 months to consolidate their learning during an Integration Day scheduled for May 14th, 2024 9:00-3:30 MST.

Please note: given this is a team based training, applications will be required to be submitted by supervisors for an entire team. Once accepted, supervisors and participants will be asked to register through the Right Start for Colorado portal.
